  • APL (American President Lines) front office was officially opened in 2006 on October 1st. I have started with office setup, recruiting the team, maintaining the customers, and searching for vendors. At the same time, monitoring the establishment of a representative APL office in Belarus.
  • Daily responsibilities: planning, organizing of company daily activities, control of operations (supervising of timely booking confirmations, correspondence with customers and own agencies, timely B/L issuing, customer invoicing, vessel allocation control), performance monitoring, active sales in Lithuania and Republic of Belarus (rate quotations, maintenance of business relations with current customers, development of new relations with potential customers), actively introducing new products (new services or e-commerce products), communication and selection of vendors (following strict vendor selection program, control of the process), finance monitoring, including administration of accounts receivable, implementation of the budget (both sales and financial), analysis of financial ratios, approving payments to the vendors, personnel issues (hiring, position rotation, motivation, task identification, personal meetings at least twice per year), deal with claims (registering and perusing cargo claims following APL processes, representing Company’s interests), decision making on various issues. Representation of the Company at courts, customs, tax inspection, social insurance, and other governmental institutions. Constant reporting to the trade of local market changes to be competitive and maintain the market share. Filling of documents for customs Authorized Economic Operator (safety and security) certification.
  • Working with in-house APL programs, and installing new programs, to facilitate the ongoing work processes. Constantly attending APL tutorial programs to improve technical skills.
  • Achievements: on June 5th, 2009 Company received AEO certificate, facilitating customs clearance. The process took one year.
  • One of the main goals was achieving volume growth: year by year volumes increased to more than 160 000 TEU of laden boxes annually.
